Colibri Hospitality was born from a deep and lasting connection to Costa Rica. What began as a series of unforgettable visits evolved into something more: a commitment to creating exceptional travel experiences rooted in purpose, quality, and local connection.
Founders Cody and Anna Traxler first discovered Playa Flamingo during one of many trips exploring the Guanacaste region. Captivated by the landscape, the people, and the rhythm of daily life, they made the decision to plant deeper roots. Together with close partners, they purchased their first condo and began hosting guests.
Drawing on years of experience in boutique hospitality and property management, they brought a thoughtful, guest-centered approach to every detail. The response was immediate. Their first property stood out for its design, cleanliness, and warm hospitality. Encouraged by its success, they later added a second home in the same area.

As their presence in Playa Flamingo grew, so did their vision. They began building relationships with trusted local professionals who shared their values and commitment to excellence. One of the most important of these relationships was with Elsie Rodriguez, whose care, integrity, and local expertise soon made her an essential part of the Colibri story. With this foundation in place, Colibri Hospitality took shape as more than just a property management company. It became a true partner in elevating the entire guest experience.
The name Colibrí, Spanish for hummingbird, reflects the company’s core values: precision, agility, and grace. Just as the hummingbird plays a vital role in its ecosystem, Colibri Hospitality aims to make a meaningful impact on the community and environment it serves.
